TOR2 Waste Doctors help ensure healthy recycling

TOR2 is a new joint venture company owned by May Gurney and Torbay Council, which took over delivery of a range of front-line services for local residents on 19 July.
The new recycling and waste services to be introduced by TOR2 will give all residents the opportunity to recycle 85% of their waste, and ensure that as many recyclable materials as possible can be re-processed.
If residents want extra help and advice about the new service they can contact a Waste Doctor by ringing Torbay Council’s Customer First call centre on 01803 207900.
Waste Doctors are advising residents on: what they will and won’t be able to recycle through their new recycling services, what the new containers are for, when to start using them, what can be put in them, and when and where to put them. They will also answer any other recycling and waste questions residents may have.
Waste Doctors will also be out and about in Torbay from July to October attending roadshows, giving talks and presentations to local community and interest groups, and visiting residents at home to explain the recycling and waste service improvements.
Andy Muncer, TOR2 general manager, said: “Our recycling and waste solution is the first major change of TOR2’s offering and we believe it is the best solution to meet and exceed Torbay’s recycling targets.
“We are acutely aware of the needs of the Bay and understand that there are logistical challenges in rolling out this service change, but believe that residents’ overriding desire to recycle more will help us to achieve our goals.
“Our specialist Waste Doctors will be the perfect compliment to assist residents with the change to the new services.”
